[Actual vehicle guide]
- E233 series are JR East trains that are active in the metropolitan area. Based on various new technologies introduced in the E231 series, the same family has adopted the duplex of major equipment and circuits for the first time as JR East Japan, and it is designed to be able to cope with failures and accidents as well . The E233 1000 series for the Keihin Tohoku Line will be active from 2007 (Heisei 19), and more than 800 will be manufactured by around 2010.
