[Commentary]
- In 1980 (Showa 55), the 8090 series which appeared for Toyoko Line express, the lightweight stainless steel is used for the body, its composition is rationally designed by computer. The front side is a triple-wife non-penetrating type, the side is gentle [Ku], next to it, we have arranged a red belt of corporate color, the atmosphere has changed with the conventional Tokyu stainless car. From the fourth formation after, the headlamp has been moved into the red belt. In 1988, Yokohama Minato Mirai 21 plan took the Toyoko Line to the new line of the subway, and the front cars 8590 and 8690, which passed through the front as a compatible car, were expanded. As a result, non-penetrating cars 8090 series are reduced to 5 car formation and used on the Oimachi line, and surplus intermediate cars are reorganized into 8590 series and active in Toyoko Line.
- The product can be made by selecting non-penetrating two kinds and the penetrating front face. Front glass inlay type only for 8090 series. Series 6000 front attached.
