--The Suma-class protected cruiser built at the Yokosuka Navy Arsenal for the Sino-Japanese War is a small and improved version of the first protected cruiser [Akitsushima] built in Japan, and was not completed by the Sino-Japanese War. However, in the Sino-Japanese War, it became the flagship of the 6th Squadron belonging to the 3rd Fleet and participated in the Battle of the Yellow Sea, the Battle of Tsushima, and the Japanese Invasion of Sakata.
--Suma's actual ship has a total length of 93.5m, a maximum width of 12.3, and a standard displacement of 2.657t, making it a small and slender hull for a cruiser.
