[About actual car]
- JNR 401, 421, 403, 423 series were manufactured as Japan's first mass-produced AC/DC dual-purpose electric trains, intended for operation between Ogori on the Joban Line and Sanyo Main Line and Kurume on the Kagoshima Main Line.
