[About the actual ship]
- Ark Royal is a medium-sized aircraft carrier operated by the British Navy during World War II.
- Commissioned November 191938. It had a standard displacement of 22,000 tons, a total length of 243m, a flight deck of 243 x 29m, and 60 carrier-based aircraft.
- In May 1941, when the British battleship Hood was sunk in an artillery battle between battleships in the Denmark Strait in pursuit of the German battleship Bismarck, Ark Royal participated in the search for the German battleship Bismarck.
