- Production began in 1943.
- At the development stage, both Henschel and Porsche are in charge of prototyping.
- The early mass production model was equipped with a Porsche turret with a curved surface design on the front of the turret, and was called the Porsche turret type.
-The Porsche turret King Tiger, which Hitler said was the most beautiful tank, was changed to a more linear Henschel design turret because its shape was prone to shot trapping when hit by enemy shells.
- There were only about 50 Porsche turret versions.
