[About the actual ship]
- Missouri is the main battleship of the US Navy in World War II.
- Also known as the ship where the Japanese instrument of surrender was signed.
- Commissioned in June 1944 at the end of the war as the third ship of the Iowa class.
- With a standard displacement of 48,500 tons and a total length of 270m, she was one of the largest battleships in the world.
- The main gun is equipped with nine 40.6 cm guns of 50 caliber, and the maximum speed is 33 knots.
- In addition to conducting support naval gunfire for the landing operation on Iwo Jima, she also participated in naval gunfire in mainland Japan.
-Also, after the war, it continued to be refurbished and was active in the Gulf War.
