[About the actual machine]
- The Saab AJ37 Viggen was developed independently by Sweden and operated from 1971 to 2005.
- Started development in 1961 as a successor to the Draken.
- After successful first flight in 1967, deployment and operation began in 1971.
-The fuselage shape is equipped with canards on the left and right sides of the cockpit, and the main wing adopts a delta wing. The engine is equipped with one Pratt & Whitney JT8D-22.
- While demonstrating a maximum speed of Mach 2.1, it boasted STOL performance that allowed takeoff and landing on short runways.
