[Actual vehicle introduction]
- The Sangi Railway Sangi Line runs from Tomita Station in Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture to Nishi-Fujiwara Station in Inabe City.
- In addition to passenger transport, the line also plays a major role in freight transport, connecting Higashi-Fujiwara Station with the JR Kansai Main Line.
- When construction of Chubu Centrair International Airport began in 2000, construction materials were transported from Higashi-Fujiwara Station to Yokkaichi Port on the JR line.
- As a result, the number of freight trains increased dramatically, and since the existing locomotives could not meet the demand, two locomotives were transferred from the Oigawa Railway and two from the Chichibu Railway to the Sangi Line to help out.
- The Deki 200 type locomotives No. 202 and 203 transferred from the Chichibu Railway had a larger individual output than other locomotives and were used to switch freight cars at Higashi-Fujiwara Station and Tomita Station. Deki 202 was also equipped with a mounting base for a snowplow and was used as a snow removal locomotive.
- The transportation of construction materials took place until 2003.
- DEKI 202 and 203 were also scrapped in 2011.
