[About the actual vehicle]
- The Seibu Railway 701 series train is a vehicle that has been manufactured since 1963.The front part of the train is very different from the 601 series, and it has a unique [Seibu style] with large direction curtains, 2 headlights, and stainless steel decorative panels. This is the vehicle that became.
- A total of 192 vehicles, 48 in 4-car formations, were manufactured, and they served as the mainstay of each line, and later became a major group of Seibu railway vehicles, including the 801 series, which appeared as an expansion model.
- The 701 series was manufactured over a long period of time, so details may differ depending on the period.
- From 1975, in addition to changes in appearance such as the installation of air conditioning equipment, remodeling work to improve new performance, and changing the car body color to Seibu Yellow, the 6-car formation incorporated intermediate cars of the 601 series with air conditioning and HSC. There are many variations such as the new 501 series, which is an electric version of the surplus Kuha 1701.

- In addition to the 801 series, which will be commercialized for the first time, we have prepared a large lineup including 701 series test painted cars such as the 701 series from the non-air-conditioned era.
- As the lineup has increased, the number of products produced for each item has decreased.
