This is beautiful model, intricate detailing and ease of changing couplers, running it is one of the smoothest I have experienced with Kato motors. Its pulling power is good. I like it The photos do not do it justice :)

No, the loco is a dummy, and is pushed by one of the passenger cars. Unfortunately the loco wheels are binding at lower speeds, at least with the set I received.

I am sure it can be fixed, but it should run properly out of the box.

DeltaX
Poor coupling devices Hard to connect
No English information leaflet
Parts like Catenary arms and below chassis hatches prone to drop off.
A bit on the light side for stability at higher speeds
Otherwise a reasonable model. Discounted price sort of makes up for shortcomings.

Hi,

This unit was fun to build, but as I cant read japanese. (Sure I did miss some valuable
tips there. But there is one problem. I cant raise the pantograph and keep it locked. I have to solve that. I have another class 103 unit to build, and than one would be much easier to build

An excellent kit for portraying high density urban living on the model railway. Ensure to
get several of these, build them, and place them very close together along narrow
streets. I mix this kit with apartments made by Greenmax #44 for variety also from
Hobbysearch. hey all need 'weathering' to look real as they are to clean in the box.

I just received this model the other day. It's beautiful! The detail is incredible and it certainly captures the accuracy of the prototype. Highly recommended if you are interested in this type of model.
