This is a great tram, despite it's length it will still run flawlessly on 103mm radius curves. Don't forget to get the motor unit if you plan on actually operating it.

I really like the color of the Kato indirect lighting kits compared to earlier Kato LED lighting kits, which had a bluish tint to them. The indirect lighting kits have a color hue much closer to the yellower traditional incandescent bulb color, which I find more realistic in older-style passenger cars. These kits are also relatively easy to install and a good value, especially when purchased in packs of six. Thanks!

Kato unitrack curves wrong dimensions in inches: Correctly 20-187 and 20-188 radii are 16 3/8" and 15" (NOT 19" and 15" shown) see http://katousa.com/N/Unitrack/concrete.html

I have just bought a Tomix track cleaning car 6498 and want to digitalise it for use on DCC. Do you offer any exchange board for the car which could accomodate a DCC decoder in DIY way? Maybe with a decoder, too NEM 651. I read on a forum that digitalisation does not work for cleaning after 2015, only for vacuuming. Why is that? Regards, Jos

@No Name: dude you are looking at the "Cash on Delivery" price for the Japanese page... that one costs 430yen just for handling fee, so the product cost is set cheaper. The price for credit card and PayPal is 1,458yen for the Japanese page. You should really check the details before posting, you can clearly see the retail price is lower on the English page because we don't pay Japanese tax.

Just perfect. It gets pretty detailing on its model, none of nails and another detailing missed. Just a flaw of headlight color, I just used to replace it's headlight board to get it the best. Now it purely a High Grade version of EF62 locomotive.

Would Tomix please update the model? I just found somewhere it just got serious mistakes, this is the first mass production version of EF63, not another version of EF63! The serious mistakes cannot be accepted. I just having my EF62, so I do only installing EF63 headlight pcb on my EF62, too.

This is actually the solder, not a soldering iron. It melts below the boiling point of water and requires a special flux (the zinc chloride mentioned). This means that for complex parts that would otherwise melt at soldering temperature (185 degrees C) they could be soldered at a much lower temperature since the solder melts at that lower temperature. Why doesn't everyone use it already? the Flux is highly corrosive and must be completely rinsed after the soldering is done. good Luck1

My kit is paid for but not yet received in the USA, so I am only replying to LaFisk. The insane detail shown in the photos and the fact that it is a limited edition justified the price to me, but I am more of a Miyazaki collector than an N-scale operator, and this happens to be in N scale. I wonder if any buyers will use it as a starting point to enlarge each piece digitally, to increase the scale, to match other figures from the movie.

tn couplers suitable for these keikyu 600 (and 1500/2100) are 6324 for the front of each endcar; jc25 is also suitable with some modifications. 0337 fit all the other cars but are not a tight fit on some of the cars of the recent 600 series models.

The detail of this model is absolutely amazing! But clocking in at $735 for a N scale model not even 16 inches tall is insane. Every other limited Miniatureart N scale Model is less than $75 and reasonably affordable. But the price on this model puts in out of the ball park for the average buyer and into the arena of the vastly wealthy or insanely devoted!

The Kato trucks for Bandai Shorty trains cost the same and run significantly smoother. The downside is that the Kato trucks come with relief trucks attached so you can't switch in the prototype trucks as with the Bandai trucks. But if the jumpiness and drag of the Bandai trucks have been an issue for you, try out the Kato trucks.

I had just started building my Tokyo Subway when Kato announce the subway series. I ordered 2 Ginza Line Series 01 sets, the first to require the new 11-212 version 2 lighting kit. Considering this, I am REALLY disappointed at how the car interior is modelled. They show virtually nothing at all. The windows are large and, once lighting is installed, the interior is going to be very bland. I must say, the whole interior stops at seat level, there is nothing below that.

Fantastic model, much higher quality than I expected, takes up large hunk of realestate but well worth the sacrafice, fits in with Unitram V50 kits perfectly. Definetly a focal point of my layout. Keep left side unglued to acess autos, snaps snugly into place. Thanks H.S. for making purchasing Japanese N scale here in USA a breeze. F.FiskIV, ABQ, NM USA.

Model is well done and adds a bit of extra to add to make it a finished model. The model is quiet after running in for 30 mins or so. Not as quiet as a tomix or kato but better than a green max. It runs smooth once run in and of course has pick up from tender and main wheels. Although expensive it is still much better detail that that of the kato d51498 or the tomix c57-1. Only main nark i have is the rear light is not lit up like the front is. Knuckle coupler as standard.

The Instructions are illustrated well enough that I feel I will have nottrouble building this kit. This is the first of who knows how many Ghibli buildings, with Kiki's delivery service also available. The detail of the laser-cut parts is exquisite where it needs to be, they have even partially cut some lines where that is effective for texture, like the shingled roof. My vote is 5 for all aspects of this fantasy-themed building. (and the Kiki building too)

Using this base with the intended three other Visual Scene Items allows a modeler to discard the bases included with those items. If it is not clear from the photos, 11 figures (one is of an adult with a child) are included. The bracing part below the bridge was tricky to place exactly right, and the hilly section of red fencing interfered with the ground when it was installed via the end pegs.
