- The 2600 series, which appeared on the Nagoya Line in 1970 (Showa 45), was born as Japan's first four-door, cross-seat carriage to accommodate the increasing number of long-distance commuters due to the expansion of commuting areas, while also serving as a means of transportation to tourist destinations. Toilets were installed in the Ku and Sa cars to accommodate long-distance passengers, and these were used on express trains connecting Nagoya and Ise. When they first appeared, they were not air-conditioned, but were later converted to be air-conditioned, and renovation work began in 1989 (Heisei 1). After the renovation, the toilet window was filled in and display curtains were installed on the front and sides.
- In addition to the 2600 series air-conditioned four-car set, the product can also be made into a 2410 series four-car set with long seats by changing the end plate and removing part of the piping mold on the roof of the middle car with pantograph. The headlight lenses are also clear parts to match the snap-in type front glass parts.
