--The Keio 8000 series is the first Keio train to use VVVF inverter control, and from 1992 to 1999, 14 10-car trains and 13 8-car trains were manufactured.
――As a successor to the 6000 series, it is mainly used for limited express and semi-express, and is still the main vehicle of Keio.
――The design of the leading car is a rounded semi-streamlined type, following the image of the 5000 series.
――Renewal work of control equipment started around 2013, and some trains have been replaced with new VVVF inverters.
