- The EMD SD90/43MAC is a 6000 hp CC shaft-arranged AC motor-driven electric diesel locomotive and is one of the most powerful single-engine locomotives in the United States, along with the SD80MAC.
- A distinctive feature of the exterior is the large radiator that extends to the full width of the vehicle.
