- In 1987, the Kyosho team entered the 4WD class of the 2nd IFMAR (International Model Race Car Federation) Electric Off-Road Car World Championship held in England with a prototype machine that was a mid-engine version of the conventional Optima. The prototype, tentatively named Mid-Optima at the time, was in a state close to that of the actual race, but five cars advanced to the A-main final race, where the top 10 cars from qualifying competed.
- Although they unfortunately missed out on winning, they came in second place and showed the world their high performance. This prototype eventually received the official name Optimamid and went on the market, making it possible for anyone to experience world-class performance.
- In 2022, it will be reprinted as a vintage series and remains as popular as it was in the late 1980s.
- And in 2023, when Kyosho celebrates its 60th anniversary, the World War Prototype Optima Mid will be revived in limited production.
- The basic configuration of the original Optima Mid was the same as the World War Prototype, but some parts were treated as options and the body was a special product.
- On the other hand, in this 60th anniversary limited model, the Optima Pro body used in the prototype is reprinted with a new mold, and a special decal that reproduces the coloring at that time is also included.
- Combined with a large polycarbonate rear wing, it reproduces the appearance of the world championship model.
- In addition, various optional parts are now standard equipment.
- The aluminum parts have been changed to the chic gunmetal color used by Works in 1987, and new optional parts are also installed to create a special feeling unique to the limited edition model.
- The front and rear wheels are also molded in a special color only for the 60th anniversary limited edition model.This is a reproduction version of the rear wheels for the first-generation Altima.
- Optimamid, which will be revived in Kyosho's anniversary year, will reprint and sell the World War prototype that was not released in 1987 using modern technology, allowing you to fully enjoy the potential of the World War spec with the latest RC mechanism and power source. You can taste it.


- The limited model commemorating Kyosho's 60th anniversary is a special version of the popular 4WD buggy that made a spectacular debut at the world championship.
- The works model that was a huge success in the 1987 1/10 Electric Buggy World Championship has been reproduced with the original image, and is also compatible with the latest RC mechanisms, motors and batteries.
- Equipped with a reinforced slipper-clutch that also supports powerful brushless motors. Settings can be changed by replacing with the optional UM516 dual slipper seat (white/RB5/2Pcs).
- The body is reprinted with a new mold for the Optima Pro, which was also used in the 1987 World War. The cut line that fits the mid-chassis is also engraved.
- Adopts a large polycarbonate rear wing similar to the cars competing in the World Championship. This is combined with a large side plate.
- Comes standard with various optional parts for the existing reprint Optima Mid. The aluminum parts have a works-spec gunmetal finish exclusive to this model.
- Equipped with soft type tires front and rear that provide high grip. Promises a racey ride.
- Comes with a sticker that allows you to recreate Optima series designer Akira Kokawa's world war model and a Kyosho 60th anniversary sticker.
- The new main gear shaft has been changed from conventional steel to hard anodized 7075 super duralumin, making it significantly lighter. Contributes to improving throttle response.
- The front and rear dampers have a gunmetal finish, and the shaft is coated with titanium to increase wear resistance. Fine selection springs are used for both front and rear springs.
- Each rod has a turnbuckle type that allows for easy setting changes.
- The front is equipped with a universal swing shaft with high drive efficiency as standard.
- Equipped with an optional ball differential front and rear for smooth cornering characteristics.
- Full bearing specification with steering link also equipped with bearings.
