- Although the appearance is very similar to the SD70M, the main motor is different in the actual vehicle.SD70M is equipped with a DC motor, and SD70MAC is equipped with an AC motor.
- The SD70MAC is still in active use with the SD70ACe and ES44AC, leading the Cole Porter and MAXI-IV.
