--New EF510-300 series mass-produced car to pull freight trains in Kyushu

[Actual vehicle guide]
- The EF510-300 series is an AC/DC electric locomotive that was introduced to replace the ED76 and EF81 series currently operating in Kyushu.
- The previous 0 and 500 series trains, which mostly ran on DC sections, were equipped with regenerative braking, but the 300 series trains will mainly run on AC sections, so they are equipped with AC regenerative braking.
- The paint color is based on the silver color inherited from the EF81-300 series, with a navy blue and red stripe on the bottom of the car body, and the nickname of the conventional EF510 series [ECO-POWER Red Thunder] is inherited, and a logo is placed on the side of the car body.
- Mass-produced cars will be released in 2024, and will begin operation in March of the same year, mainly on the Kagoshima Main Line and Nippo Main Line.
- The mass-produced cars from No. 302 onwards have some of the louvers on the sides and rooftop equipment blocked off, which is a distinctive difference in appearance from the pre-production car, No. 301.

- Both the upper and lower headlights are LED, reproduced with granular engraving and lit in white.
- The shape of the side of the car body and the roof-top equipment, which have new cover plates on some of the louvers that differ from the mass-produced pre-production car (No. 301), are reproduced by new production.
