This model is an assembly kit for a railway model freight car reproduced in O-16.5 NG7 gauge.
This is a reproduction of a slate wagon, a freight car developed in the late 18th century for transporting slate.
Specialized open freight cars, designed to handle the fragile characteristics of slate, supported the slate industry in North Wales.
The model represents a basic vehicle used to transport roofing slates cut from a quarry.
It is an open style with no roof and frames attached on all four sides.
This model recreates the rolling stock that operated on the Penrhyn Quarries Railway, which transported slate from the Penrhyn Quarries in Wales.
The frame surrounding the vehicle on all four sides of this assembly kit is reproduced using laser-cut wooden parts.
In addition, the wheels are equipped with metal bearings and brass bearings to ensure reliable running.
Assembly instructions are also included to ensure easy assembly.
This set contains parts to create three slate wagons.
