There have been various types of open wagons since the early days of railroading, but the standard 7-ton cars were consolidated into 10-ton cars after nationalization due to increased capacity modifications.
These vehicles were renamed Type To1 (first generation) in the name change in the early Showa period.
The To1 type (2nd generation) is a vehicle that was originally a pre-war steel open-top car To20000, which was remodeled to the To1 type (2nd generation) during renovations in the 1950s when the steel parts were converted to wooden bodies.

The Type To1 (first generation, air-controlled specification) is a model of a vehicle with three wooden side panels, full gate doors, automatic couplers, and air brakes.
The product reproduces the gate support, release lever, underfloor brake device, shoe-type, and W-type axle box guard.
