--DF90 type, used on the Joban Line!

[Actual vehicle introduction]
The DF90 is a diesel-electric locomotive, one of which was manufactured by Hitachi in 1956.
The front of the train was in the Shonan style with two windows that was popular at the time, while the side of the train featured a body similar to that of the EF58 type, with three square windows lined up in a row.
The paint colour was an innovative cream and red.
The engine is manufactured by the German company MAN and has many things in common with the DF40(91), but differs in that its rated output is 1650PS.
After various tests, it went into service in June 1957, at which point its color was changed to grape.
In 1958, the ARC (Asian Railway Leaders' Conference) Railway Exhibition was held at Oi Works (now the Tokyo General Rolling Stock Center), and the DF90 was also exhibited.
At this time the car was repainted in the cream and red paint scheme it had when new.
Even after the railway exhibition ended, it continued to be used as is and was active on the Joban Line.
It was later recolored grape-colored again, and in 1961 it was purchased by Japanese National Railways and officially registered.
It continued to operate on the Joban Line, but with the progress of electrification it was transferred to the Akita Locomotive Depot in 1964.
However, it did not see much notable success, was later withdrawn from service, and was finally scrapped in 1971, ending its short life.

The handrails and release levers for guides on the left and right sides of the taillights are made of separate metal parts for a more realistic feel.
The train was repainted grape-coloured and purchased by the Japanese National Railways in 1961.
