The Kintetsu 22600 series Ace is a new general-purpose express train that was introduced to replace the 12200 series.
Available in two-car and four-car configurations, this model is characterized by a smoking room installed in the leading car without a pantograph.
The body of the car is based on the 22000 series ACE, but incorporates new design features such as a rounded front shape, enlarged side windows, and single-arm pantographs.
In operation, it is common to see it coupled with other express trains (12200 series, 12400 series, 12410 series, 12600 series, 22000 series, etc.).
Since December 2012, modifications have been made to the trains to allow them to run on the Hanshin Line, and the skirt shape of some trains has been changed.
