Developed with the goals of [energy saving], [improving safety and service], and [improving vehicle maintenance], it was introduced on the Nankai Line in 2015 and has since been introduced on the Koya Line and is in active use. It won the 2023 Good Design Award.

The front coupler uses a coupling coupler, the rest of the front uses dummy couplers, and the middle uses Arnold couplers.
The "Women-only car" sign on car 5 or 3 is reproduced in print.
