CAF
Very cheap. Clear parts in a separate bag and the rest in the same bag. Cleanup takes a while. Minimal flash. Ordnance included, but not in the instructions. I bought eduard color etch & Leading Edge 410 "Cougar" Squadron decals. Fun weekend project. I'm aware that the model isn't accurate, but the accurate one is expensive.

CAF
Very cheap. Clear parts in a separate bag and the rest in the same bag. Cleanup takes a while. Minimal flash. Options to build 3 JASDF & 3 CAF variants with 2 sets of instructions and marking/painting guides. I bought eduard color etch and did No. 439 Squadron. Fun weekend project.

pauly1651
A very good quality model. Parts fit is excellent, and I love how it comes molded in the different colors for decks, hull, props etc. There are many small parts and it is a high detail model. Great care and patience are required to build this model correctly. Not for beginners.
2016/09/28 23:33:00

1/72
Couldn't find the 1/72 version of this kit here so here it is. If you can find 1/72, get. You won't be disappointed. Don't compare Revell to Hasegawa. Some of the panel lines are shallow. Moving wings. Full payload. The decals are made in Italy. The 1/144 version would be much more simple than mine.
2016/09/15 23:47:00

Des Prince
Has to be the most detailed, accurate fitting kit I have built in over 50 years of building models. Kinetic have raised the bar for all the other model manufacturers in business today.
Keep it up Kinetic.

Hallo, this is a DUTCH aircraft built in Fokker Company at Amsterdam Holland.

Easy & fun kit. Nice panel lines & molded-in detail. Basic cockpit with decals. Open/closed canopy/speedbrakers/wheels/leading edge slats. Made-in-Italy decals.

A08012
2 in 1 kit. Anime or actual. 2 sets of pilots and cockpits. Average fit. Lot of sanding and bit of putty. Crisply recessed lines. Not as deep as some of the cheaper Airfix kits. Flying stand. Thin decals. No need for softener. Open/closed canopy, landing gear & air brakes. Model is as long as the box. Quite big.
2016/08/27 1:51:00

ZV7241
Outdated tooling requires skills & patient to make the kit presentable. No recessed (only raised) lines except around the two rudders. Control stick must be cut & installed with pilot or blocked by panel. Open/closed clear canopy bit oversized. No struts for wheel doors. Plain wheel wells. Decals for cockpit & exterior. Full payload.
2016/08/20 3:20:00

Ale Tauk
The only problem only the packaging box from manufacture that seems smallest than the model sprue. Hopefully there's no missing/broken parts because of it.
2016/08/18 19:49:00

dan
Impossible price. Very simple kit. Very good recessed panel lines. Basic cockpit without decals. Good fit. Mine was heavily weathered.
2016/08/18 4:46:00

Totally a bad move to include all 2 ship in same plastic bag. I cant sell the extra one because decal for both ships in same paper.
2016/07/29 5:45:00

JMSDF
Pit-Road's JMSDF Destroyer kit comes with 1 ship, 2 decal sheets, 3 copters (Chinook, Cobra & Seahawk) & plenty of spare parts. The full interior of a copter hanger is well done. The same treatment is given to sister ship DD-106 which I reviewed.
2016/07/21 9:19:00

JMSDF
Pit-Road's release of the JMSDF Minesweeper & Destroyer is solid enough to keep small scale builders happy. The kit comes with 2 ships, 1 PE sheet, 1 decal sheet, 3 copters (Chinook, Cobra & Seahawk) & 1 photo booklet of the actual ship. The full interior of a copter hanger is a first.
2016/07/21 9:15:00

Tone
It's an easy kit that can be put together without paints, glue & decals. Stickers included. Don't be fooled by easy. It's, I'd say, intermediate. What took me by surprise is the amount of detail & parts Fujimi put in the this modern tooling. Especially the funnel & superstructure. No photo etch. Aoshima, Dragon, Hasegawa, Hobby Boss, Pit-Road, Tamiya & Trumpeter, move over. Fujimi wins.
2016/07/13 12:17:00

113357
Of all the 700th aircraft I've built, this one is easily the most realistic. Fujimi seems to be the only one who does plastic propellers & separate landing gear & canopies. Mr. Color call-outs. Nice decals.
2016/07/13 12:04:00

CGN
Cruiser Guided Nuclear. The kit was brilliant. Only grip would be the slightly warped hull. 28 PE parts on a tiny sheet. Good decals. Some unused decals & plastic parts. Instructions were confusing, showing one version of the ship in assembly and another in marking/painting guide. I'd build it again.
2016/07/05 2:57:00

PA
The last PA-class battleship was a very simple build. No PE. Cheap. Could've been Hobby Boss' stepping stone to their upgraded toolings. The bridge is hallow, so is the aircraft crane. Upper & lower hulls warped. Stand included. Simple detail.
2016/07/05 2:45:00

Big Mo
Big Mo is definitely big. Bit of sanding & putty. Only decals were flags, but wouldn't come off backing so I used my own. No aircraft insignia decals. Boxart showed one color scheme for 194x, but web searches show a different one for the modernized version with a helipad, missiles & new guns. Easy & fun kit.
2016/07/05 2:28:00

Harrier
Made some marking/decal mistakes. Not a bad kit. Cheap, easy & fun.

T-50 PAK-FA
Near perfect kit except for being too big, vague marking guide, inaccurate camo guide (I used Revell's PDF as it looked closest to the actual photos) & shallow panel lines. If I were to build it again, I'd build Revell's.
2016/06/17 2:23:00

AOE-01
The kit is near perfect except for the warped upper & lower hulls after assembly which can be fixed. Boiling water or low heat. Also the fuelling cables are missing but you can use black electronic wires. The photo-etch was amazing. The safety nets should be open like the real ship.
2016/05/29 4:42:00

JG71
The payload isn't supposed to be installed, but I built them just for fun. Only the outboard external fuel tanks are required. Marking guide was good, but not painting guide. So google as usual.
2016/05/24 11:48:00

JG71
Super fun build. Bit of flash & mold lines. Seams, gaps & sink holes. Minimal putty & sanding. Crisp engraved lines & rivets. Landing gear & canopy weren't perfect. Ejection seats as complex as 1/48. Good cockpit. Good air intake, engine & exhaust. Quality decals.

P-26A
* big scale
* good fit overall
* raised rivets & panel lines
* full engine with rotating propller
* engine cowl didn't fit
* full cockpit with detailed instrument panel, side panels, machine guns, control, seat, pedals, etc.
* lost canopy, but scratch-built it
* color scheme is fantasy, but history buffs will know

To complete a naval shipyard, get this kit as well, in addition to the others I posted here. All ships are optional. In this kit are a large dock crane with rotating boom, naval buildings, a oil storage tank, seven pontoons for mooring ships, and a floating dock,
2016/05/13 11:45:00

You get three military factories with chimneys on three gray parts trees in this kit.

Included are two gun turrets, two office buildings, two T-shaped docks, and two crane barges. Nice detail. Especially the buildings.

I don´t have any references of the real aircraft, but I dare to say its a very accurate model.
The model is beautifully made, there isn´t flash, the decals are crisp, and the instructions are easy to follow too.
The model shouldn´t present problems to people who already have built some of them.
2016/05/08 14:20:00

Seems a bit pricey for 1/72.
2016/04/27 7:39:00

Chiyoda
Forgot the waterslides. #11 is chiyoda read from right to left, should be on the back of hull near the top. The rear flag pole was made out of a part tree. Hull is 2 pieces = putty. The 6 masts/towers can be installed either upright or sideways.
2016/04/18 11:04:00

Chiyoda
Pit-Road dropped the ball on this kit. No lower deck. No deck camo decal. Aoshima's version has them for less. No aircraft on an aircraft carrier. Epic. High price. The painting guide had camo markings in the right size so I photocopied it a few times & cut out the colors so I could paint the deck in layers.
2016/04/18 6:54:00

Lexington
Good: adequate accuracy, average fit, simple build, aircraft insignia decals, 16 planes (Wildcat, Devastator, Dauntless), 2 elevators, crane, detailed deck & island, low price. Bad: some putty required, some very fragile parts, questionable color schemes. In retrospect, glue elevators to deck 1st & deck to hull before gun turrets.

Hobby Boss's Easy Kit had the best packaging: gray & clear part trees in a PET tray in a top/bottom cardboard box. English & Chinese instructions. Option to build/paint/decal RAF 417 Tunisia (in my photo) or RAF 249 Ta Kali. Choice of closed or open canopy. 17 quality parts. Incredible detail. Minimal puttying & sanding. Cockpit molded into fuselage.

The Shoki deserved to be produced in more volume since B-29s were on the horizon.
By midwar the Ki 43 and A6M were obsolete and both produced by Nakajima to the end. Think of how many Ki 44s could have been made instead.

Also, with the Ki 61 coming to grief in the tropics, the reliable Ki 44 should have replaced the unreliable Hien except in Japan.
The Shoki was low maintenance campared to the Ki 61, Ki 84, J2M, and N1K.
All unrelable by comparison.
2016/03/10 5:03:00

Since full turn was almost 20 sec, most Japanese pilots disliked the Shoki vs the Hayabusa at 11 sec! But in any other nation it was a good turn rate. The P-51B could turn inside it but still didn't outclass it.
Some say it dove 513 mph.

I like the Ki 44-IIc with cannon. The famous 40mm low velocity short range recoiless cannon was unpopular with a range of just 150m, but it could put a 1.5m whole in a B-29! The high powered long range 20mm Ho-3 quartet was my favorite.

Have had some issues with gaps on connection points. Such as rear panels/fenders where they attach to the main upper body.

Gun's base had a 90 degrees' wrong orientation, had to cut it.

There was a hole on the turret next to the commander's hatch after all parts were placed, had to fill it up.

Some hiccups here and there but overall a nice build.

Dragon upgraded engineering to 2014 for this kit. The deck with superstructure, upper hull, lower hull & stand are all one pieces. No puttying. A few photo etched parts. Open or closed side hatches for optional lifeboats & rear hatch. 1-piece helipad landing decal. 4 Boeing V-22 Osprey with 2 in-flight & 2 taxiing. Very good fit. I went overboard with weathering.
2016/02/08 0:39:00

Nautilus
The 1958 kit is of old or even original tooling & below average quality, compared to today's offerings. It's a bad fit. With the proper building & painting skills, it can be restored to its glory. I think the stand & sticker are new, so are the printed material & box. Even LIndberg, considered average, makes the same scale model with better quality.

Musashi
Fujimi's Musashi Battleship was an engrossing build. Kit was molded in gray plastic. Minimal mold lines. Fujimi tried hard to cram as much detail as possible into this small scale. Step 1 is wrong about the 4 outer gun turret holes. Don't drill those. Just sand the pegs off & glue them on the edges. Test-fit everything before gluing. No hull. It's waterline. The superstructure & side structures of gun turrets should be glued at the same time or they won't fit.

Dragon lived up to the reputation. The kit is extremely detailed. Photo-chopped box art. Google it for the colors. The helipad marking decals are unnecessarily complicated: layer line by line. A choice between closed or open storage room in front of the helicopter. No pegs & holes in some parts like the gallery. Some parts are too tiny. Armament is nicely represented. The hull needed puttying. My first ship kit.

A semi old tooling of a Revell 1/72 scale Eurofighter kit. Quite a bit of flash. Some bad fits. It'd take some time & putty to perfect the kit. Quality color-coded Hasegawa decals & Japanese instructions. Correct order of layering decals is of utmost importance. Follow the directions chart to apply decals from top color (orange) 1st to bottom color (white) last. Study the chart a couple times to visualize the results. Not my best work.

Revell's "Union Pacific Big Boy" (google for more info & pics) is one of the best locomotive kits I've built: very good detail, nice backhead/controls & interior, undercarriage, 4-8-8-4 wheels, coal car, track & stone-shaped stand. Fair price. Side-open package. Kit was made in USA. Easy-to-follow instructions printed in Poland. Quality waterslide decals printed in Italy. Overall, very good kit.

built oob as the trainer (B) variant, painted using acrylics and weathered using pastels. a lot of flash on the parts, and the clear canopy is very fragile. upper fuselage front half is a problem spot as you may need to add back in some detail after putting the large seam line between it and the back half of the upper fuselage. didn't bother to build the drone though. the decal sheet could also use better markings to identify which is which, but the decals go down nicely.

No CAACA for other than Hasegawa, or other items that aren't handpicked for display? Wish you would do a CAACA for ALL the items you have in this database. Shoppers are picky, whether you believe it or not. Especially about features. They can see bias in advertising as you have displayed here. I'd personally like to see what I'm buying compared to other products.
It'd be great if you could CAACA all items.
Thanks for the ones you do a CAACA on though.
Have a great day.

Хорошая бюджетная модель, деталировка на 3, есть небольшие огрехи нижних частей крыльев которые решаются шпаклёвкой, да и еще выпускной коллектор не везде достаёт до мотора.

This is actually a model of T-72BA (upgraded T-72B mod 1989). Sometimes it's called T-72B(M)A.
Early ('85) and late ('89) T-72Bs were upgraded to T-72BA in 2000s.
Main visual feature of this upgrade is tracks and driving sprockets from T-90A. Also, all of the '85 T-72Bs received fenders from '89 T-72Bs. There are several T-72BA with V-92 engine (distinguished by exhaust pipe and oil tank of T-90A).

Sharp details and flash-free mouldings. What more can a hobby modeller ask for.

SpaceShipTwo
Revell manufactures some of the latest vehicles and sells them at reasonable prices. Space Ship Two is one example. The kit is a little small at 1/144, but very easy to build. Beautiful box art. Very detailed decals. No interiors. Just clear windows. Options to build open or closed landing gear. Stand included. However, it's best to search for actual photos of the real thing online to get the right colors.
