Product Description
[About Kuha 47-100]
- A postwar model of Kuha 58 produced as a control car for the 42 series. It has the same body as the Kumoha 43, but the window arrangement is different from the original Kuha 47 (the control car for the 32 series on the Skyline).
- After the war, all 20m2 door control cars were incorporated into the 47 series regardless of the body shape, cloth seats, or long seats, so this type of car ended up with a much larger number of unorthodox cars than the original, providing enthusiasts with ideal research material.
- The 47-100 series, which is a renaming of the former 58 series, traveled eastward from Kansai along with other 42 series trains after the war, passing through the Skyline, and was converted to a toilet at Minobu and Iida, where it was used for express trains. Taking advantage of its front through door (the original 47 series was non-through), it was fitted with a 4-car through train with electric current Moha 52 at the front and rear, and its flashy paint scheme during its Iida Line rapid service may have been the most glamorous period for this vehicle.
[Kuha 47-100 series paint color and formation]
- After the war, all 42 series trains heading east were painted in purple. Eventually, in anticipation of the appearance of the Sky-spot type 70 series, they were painted in blue/cream Sky-spot, and then, as they were transferred to local lines, the 47-100 and 42 series (excluding 43 series) were designated for rapid service on the Iida Line, where they underwent the changes shown in the color diagram on the left (on the back of the package). Also, among the 47-100 series trains transferred to the Minobu Line, they remained purple for a long time until the Minobu Line was painted in Sky-spot. Some of the 42 series trains used for both routes were transferred to the Onoda Line, where they were used for single-car operation in the standard purple color for the line with a warning color on the front (yellow). An example of a formation using the 47-100 series on the Iida Line is shown in the diagram below (on the back of the package).
