--CA-38 [San Francisco] was commissioned on February 10, 1934 as the fifth treaty heavy cruiser New Orleans class.
――This class was the final development of the prewar heavy cruiser, and was active as the main force of the US Navy cruiser fleet.
-Although the ship was not damaged at all by the attack on Pearl Harbor, it was wrecked by the battleship Hiei in the Third Solomon Battle, which participated as a flagship.
――After returning to the battle line, I participated in fierce battles such as the Battle of the Philippine Sea, the Battle of Leyte Gulf, and the Battle of Okinawa, but survived until the end of the war and was dismantled in May 1961.
