--Sputnik No. 5 (Russia: Спутник-5) is a manned spacecraft tester launched by the Soviet Union in 1960, and is the first spacecraft to successfully launch an animal into orbit and survive to Earth.
――Sputnik 5 is one of the Soviet Union's Sputnik projects, but it is also called Koraburi Sputnik 2 because it also served as the second test flight of the Vostok spacecraft.
――Sputnik No. 5 did not ride on humans, but it was a life support system for carrying two dogs and 40 mice named Strelka (Стрелка) and Belka (Белка), two rats and several kinds of plants. It had an airtight room with equipment, a structure for entry into the atmosphere, and a TV camera for capturing the dogs.
