--This is a guide to the completely new mold 1/72 de Havilland DH108 Swallow Injection Plastic Kit from Micromill.
――The DH108 is a tailless test aircraft with a swept wing and a vertical stabilizer attached to the fuselage of the de Havilland Vampire for high-speed flight and study of swept wing characteristics by the United Kingdom.
――This machine equipped with the de Havilland Goblin centrifugal turbojet in the engine has achieved the result of overcoming accidents such as the death of multiple pilots during the test flight and breaking through the speed of sound.
--The Unit 1 TG283, which was created to test maneuverability at low speeds, and the Unit 2 TG306, which had the spin parachute attached to the tip of the main wing of Unit 1, made its maiden flight in 1946, and further in 1947. The third VW120, which had its engine strengthened, made its maiden flight and succeeded in breaking through the speed of sound the following year.
――The DH108 continued test flights for research on subsonic to transonic flight until 1950, but all three were lost in an accident.
――This kit comes with two types of canopies, main wing tip parts, and painted mask stickers to reproduce the decals of Unit 1 TG283 and Unit 2 TG306 and the features of both machines.
――When completed, the total width will be about 165 mm.
