- The Honda Civic was active in the Japanese Group A touring car race that started in 1985.
- Participated in the class with the smallest displacement in the All Japan Touring Car Championship, which was contested in three classes by displacement.
- Developed a close battle with Toyota Corolla Levin in the same class from the beginning. As a rival, the race was lively.
- Since 1988, the EF3 Honda Civic has entered the All Japan Touring Car Championship (JTC) Class 3.
- Equipped with a matured 1.6-liter in-line 4-cylinder engine, it brought the JTC manufacturer title to Honda in 1988 and 1989.
- At the Guia Race final in November 1989, Tomohiko Tsutsumi drove a Retzo-colored Civic and won the class.

[About the model]
