- The 8th Tactical Combat Wing (commonly known as [Wolfpack]) will be deployed at Ubon, Thailand, which will be the US Air Force's front line base in Vietnam from December 1965, early in the Vietnam War.
- On January 2, 1967, we deployed [Operation Boro] to eliminate the MiG fighters that pose a threat in the so-called [North Bomb], and deployed seven new MiG21 fighters that had just been paid by the Soviet Union from the fall of the previous year. It was shot down in a day.
- [Wolfpack] F-4Cs shot down a total of 22 MiG fighters before converting to the D model.
