- The engine was equipped with a Wright R-975-C1 4-stroke star-shaped air-cooled 9-cylinder gasoline engine.
- Produced by 5 American companies, nearly 7,000 were made in 1942-43.
- The main gun was equipped with a 75mm tank gun M3, but from 1944 to 1945, a fire support type with a 105mm howitzer M4 was also produced.
