- Production began in 1942, and when assigned to a heavy tank battalion, it was shown on the North African and Eastern fronts.
-After appearing in combat from August 1942, production continued with various improvements, but the type produced from February 1944 is called the late model.
- Due to the serious shortage of materials, the major feature was that the wheels were changed from rubber-rimmed to steel wheels with built-in rubber.
