- The M-1 57mm gun is an anti-tank gun produced under license by the U.S. military in 1941, when it adopted the British Ordnance QF 6 anti-tank gun.
- The M-1 was produced from 1942 to 1945, with a total of 15,637 guns produced.
- Two-thirds of these were given to the U.S. Army, and the rest were given to the British, Soviet, and Free French armies as Lend-Lease.
- This gun was deployed on the European front, but at the time of deployment, ammunition production was not in time, and as a result, many units were forced to use only armor-piercing bullets even in situations where HE bullets were required. Also, it was not highly rated as there were few cases of encounters with German tanks on the battlefield.
- At the end of the war, the M-1 was judged to lack firepower as an anti-tank gun, and since it was a towed gun, it had poor maneuverability. He was immediately retired.
