- The T-90 is a third-generation main battle tank that was adopted by the Russian Federation Army in 1992 and is based on the T-72, which has been significantly improved to bring it closer to the level of the more expensive T-80U/UD.
- The T-90 is equipped with the fire control system and commander/gunner sights adopted by the T-80U, and is also equipped with Contact 5 explosive reactive armor and a V-84MS engine, giving it the attack power of the T-80U and the T-90. A basic model that has both the defense and mobility of the 72B.
- 120 vehicles were delivered to the Russian army from 1992 to 1998.
- Currently stored as spare equipment, some vehicles have been modified to T-90M.
