- The RS2 was a high-performance grade that was first introduced in 1994 for the fourth-generation 80 Series, Audi's flagship model.
- Developed in collaboration with Porsche, the RS stands for Renn Sport (German for Racing Sport), and boasted a top speed of over 260km/h, which was astounding for a station wagon at the time.
- Since then, RS models have been available for each size and car of Audi, but Hot Wheels has chosen the third-generation RS6 as its subject, which is based on the medium-class A6 series station wagon (called the Avant by Audi) and is equipped with a 4-liter V8 engine that produces 560 horsepower and has reinforced drivetrain and suspension.
- The third-generation RS6 has a top speed of 305 km/h, making it as agile as a supercar.
- The third-generation RS6 was produced from 2012 to 2018, but the Hot Wheels version is based on the later model, which underwent a minor change in 2015, and features new design matrix LED headlights and other realistic features pad printed on the car.
