[About the actual ship]
- The Essex was an aircraft carrier built and commissioned by the United States Navy during World War II.
- Commissioned in December 1942 as the lead ship of the Essex class, of which over 20 were built. Standard displacement was 27,100 tons, maximum speed was 33 knots.
- The flight deck has a total length of 266m and is equipped with one elevator at the center of the front and rear of the deck, as well as one elevator on the side for the first time.
- The ship's three elevators allowed it to carry a high level of aircraft.
- During the Pacific War, the plane was damaged by a special attack by the Japanese military, but survived until the end of the war, and was refurbished and used jet aircraft after the war. It also served in the Korean War and the Cuban Missile Crisis.
- It also played an active role in the Apollo program, including the crew recovery mission for Apollo 7.

- The finished overall length is approximately 380mm, and the full hull model is reproduced down to the bottom of the hull.
- The shape of the hull, bridge structure, anti-aircraft armament, and other small details are meticulously modeled, providing a realistic feel.
- 24 aircraft are included in the set. Markings such as the lines on the flight deck are provided as decals.
