[Product Introduction]
- The 273 series began operation in April 2024 as a new type of vehicle for the Yakumo express train running between Okayama and Izumo City.
- The train is characterized by its body color, called "Yakumo Bronze," which is based on the concept of "a train that blends in with the scenery of the San'in and Hakubi lines and stands out against the natural surroundings," and by the adoption of the latest "natural pendulum system with on-board control" to improve ride comfort.
- Of the 11 sets, both leading cars of sets 1 to 6 and 11 have connecting doors at the front, but sets 7 and 9 (Kumoha 272) and 8 and 10 (Kumoha 273) have non-connecting doors.
- Normally it is operated as a 4-car train, but when there are a lot of passengers, two trains are coupled together to operate as an 8-car train.

- The new 273 series express train is now available for the Yakumo train.
- The 4-car set is a formation with a through structure for the leading cars at both ends, while the special 8-car set is a formation with a non-through structure for the leading car closest to Izumo City (Kumoha 272) and a formation with a non-through structure for the leading car closest to Okayama (Kumoha 273).
- You can enjoy the San'in and San'yo region running scenes together with the 10-1779 381 series [Yutaka Yakumo] (normal formation, gray bogie) scheduled for release in February 2025, the 10-1907/1908 227 series 500 series [Urara] scheduled for release in May of the same year, and the 22-243-5 sound card [273 series Yakumo] scheduled for release at the same time.

- Y2 train set (4-car set), Y7 and Y8 train sets (8-car set) belonging to the Goto General Rolling Stock Depot Izumo Branch are now available
- Reproduces the distinctive "Yakumo Bronze" body paint, ivory around the windows, and brown roof and skirt
- Includes a front door (open) part that allows you to recreate two trains coupled together (1 for the 4-car set, 2 for the 8-car set)
- The 4-car set is the "Best Selection" package, which is recommended for beginners. The 8-car set is a special package.
- The 4-car set is a formation in which both ends of the leading cars are equipped with through doors. The 8-car set is a formation in which both ends of the leading cars are not equipped with through doors.
- End markings, safety device markings (P/S), and door cock markings are printed
- Each car is equipped with a body-mounted close-coupling coupler without a hook
- Slotless motor provides smooth and quiet running
- Equipped with KATO's unique car body pendulum mechanism that reproduces the car body tilting inward when passing through curves, just like the real car
