Product Description
- Introducing a completely new 1/35 scale WWII German G7a torpedo assembly kit from Ukrainian GMU Models.
- The G7a was a steam-powered torpedo used by the Weimar Republic Navy and the Kriegsmarine during World War II.
- This torpedo, with a diameter of 533 mm and a total length of 7,163 mm, was available in three speeds: 30 kt (range 12,500 m), 40 kt (7,500 m), and 44 kt (5,000 m). However, the 44 kt was only used on the S-boats of torpedo ships until improved engines were installed, as it was considered that the 44 kt put too much strain on the engines.
- The G7a was the last wet-heater torpedo developed by Germany. It used Decalin, water and compressed air as fuel to produce 350 horsepower and had a warhead filled with 280 kg of explosive (equivalent to 280 kg of TNT).
- The kit we are introducing this time is made of injection plastic main body parts, and comes with a 3D printed contact fuse and screw parts integrated with the fins.
