[T-34A Mentor]
- The T-34A is a single-engine reciprocating trainer aircraft developed by the American Beechcraft Corporation.
- In 1952, the then National Safety Agency decided to purchase 50 training aircraft, and adopted the T-34A, for which Fuji Heavy Industries had obtained a production license.
- Those loaned by the US military and those licensed and produced by Fuji Heavy Industries were introduced to the Guard and National Safety Forces, and were used as the "Hatsukaze" by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, which was established in 1954.
- Over 140 aircraft were introduced before being retired in 1982, some of which were also used as search and rescue aircraft.
