[About the actual car]
- The Scirocco is a model released by Volkswagen in 1974.
- This was the year that the first-generation Golf, a masterpiece in automotive history that replaced the Beetle with a two-box hatchback body design, was released, and the car was developed based on the Golf platform.
- Equipped with a stylish coupe body with a low, long nose designed by Giugiaro of Italdesign, the same company that designed the Golf.
- Another distinctive feature was the tail design, which looked like it had been cleanly cut off.
- The front-mounted engine was a 4-cylinder SOHC and was available in four types ranging from 1100cc to 1700cc.
- The first generation Scirocco was produced until 1981, when it was handed over to the second generation.
