To mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Air Self-Defense Force, special markings will be applied to aircraft in various locations. Aircraft with special markings, which have been applied since the founding, are very popular with fans and attract a lot of attention, and are a highlight when displayed at base festivals and other events.
This book brings together all of these 70th anniversary painted aircraft in one place, aiming to raise awareness of Self-Defense Force aircraft as well as to serve as a collection of historical materials that can be used for model making and other purposes.

The book will feature detailed photographs and painting process photographs to aid in model building, as well as photos of the F-35 special markings (high visibility version) photographed by Tokunaga Katsuhiko, along with photos commemorating the 50th and 60th anniversaries of the Self-Defense Forces, making it an encyclopedia-like book commemorating the 70th anniversary.
