[Actual vehicle guide]
The 313 series is a commuter train that began operating in 1999.
In order to run on all of JR Central's electrified lines, the specifications for each line, such as the train length and seating arrangement, have been developed to accommodate flexible operation.
The early 0-series trains were based on a 4-car formation, with fixed box seats at the ends of the cars and convertible cross seats between the doors.
The 300 series is a two-car train with fixed box seats at the ends of the cars and reversible cross seats between the doors, just like the 0 series. It is mainly used as an additional car, coupled with other 313 series in the Nagoya area and with 315 series in the Shizuoka area.
The 0 series is in service on the Tokaido Line (between Atami and Maibara), and the 300 series is in service on the Tokaido Line (between Atami and Maibara).

Following the Central Liner 8500 series, the C-DT63 type bogies used on the early models will be adopted for the first time on the 0 and 300 series.
