[About the actual ship]
- The bombardment battle between battleships in the Denmark Strait between the British fleet chasing the German battleship Bismarck is handed down as a battle that remains in the naval history of World War II.
- One of the leading ships in the pursuit of Bismarck is the British battlecruiser Hood.
- Commissioned in 1920 after World War I, Hood was the largest battleship in the world at the time with a standard displacement of over 42,000 tons.
