- At the beginning of the war, he formed the 2nd Air Squadron with Soryu and participated in the attack on Pearl Harbor and the Indian Ocean operations. At the Battle of Midway in June 1945, Akagi, Kaga, and Soryu were rendered incapacitated by attacks by U.S. carrier-based aircraft, but a single ship counterattacked and severely damaged the U.S. aircraft carrier Yorktown, but Hiryu was hit, burned, and killed in the battle. .

- The anchor chain deck and short boat deck are expressed with delicate carvings such as non-slip split patterns and linoleum retainers.
- The base of the bridge is a one-piece molded part using a slide mold.
- The chimney is a two-part structure with the top and bottom glued together, and the part dividing line is set in a position where it is not visible.
- The strip pattern on the floor, such as the high-angle gun emplacement, is expressed with detailed carvings.

- 15 carrier-based aircraft are included, 5 each of Zero Fighter Type 21/99 Kanbaku/97 Kankaku are included, and the molding color is gray.
