[Actual vehicle introduction]
- The Taki 9900 was developed in 1962 as the next generation gasoline transport tank car.
- The major features are the adoption of a frameless structure that partially omitted the underframe at the hem of the vehicle body, and the adoption of a different diameter tank with a tank diameter that is thicker only in the center of the vehicle body.
- As a result, we were able to increase the loading capacity while keeping the vehicle length down.
- 546 cars were manufactured by 1966, and they were owned by various companies and used all over Japan, but all of them were retired by 2008 due to the mass production of successor cars.
