──Distributed air conditioning is the key! Yellow Saha 103 series

[Actual vehicle introduction]
- On Chuo and Sobu local services, the 101 series, which had been in service since the 1960s, was replaced by the 103 series, which was gradually introduced at Tsudanuma Depot (later the Narashino Depot) from the late 1970s onwards.
- The line was made up of a diverse group of cars, including newly introduced units and units transferred from other lines, and was formed into a 10-car through train, which saw service for over 20 years.
- SaHa 103-272 and 274 are cars transferred from Yamate Electric Railway Depot in 1988.
- Initially the trains were not air-conditioned, but AU712-type distributed air-conditioning units were soon installed, and in the early 1990s the trains were updated and customer service facilities were improved.
- For a long time, this canary yellow train crisscrossed Tokyo, but was retired in 2000 with the introduction of its successor, the 209-500 series.

- The back door is reproduced in silver.
- The running board is carved into the roof as a single piece, designed to look three-dimensional when viewed from the side.

- The passenger windows are of the early train type with rounded corners.
- The door windows, which are characteristic of vehicles undergoing vehicle renewal work, are reproduced by using metal clamps (silver finish) and door pocket windows with black H-rubber (black finish).
