- As the name suggests, the Highway Hauler is an original Hot Wheels design car based on a medium-distance truck that transports cargo on the highway.
- Many American trucks are of the conventional type, known in Japan as the bonnet type, with the engine mounted in front of the driver's seat, but this one is based on the COE (cab-over-engine) type, which means the driver's seat is mounted above the engine.
- Hot Wheels' Highway Hauler molds are broadly divided into the first generation that debuted in 1980 and the second generation that debuted in 1992, but this one is based on the latter.
- For this release, the shipping box is designed to resemble a Beatles concert ticket, and the body of the car is painted to match the color of the ticket.
- Tickets for Orange's two-day show at the Hollywood Bowl in California, USA, held on August 29th, 1965 and the following day, are printed on the shipping box.
