- Ratte (German: Ratte) was the code name given to the Landkreuzer P1000 (Land Cruiser P1000), a super-giant tank designed and planned by Germany during World War II.
- The super-heavy tanks developed and manufactured by Germany include the Maus, weighing 188 tons, and the E-100, weighing 140 tons. However, the Rathe was far larger than these super-heavy tanks, weighing approximately 1,000 tons, with a total length of 35m, a total width of 14m, and a height of 11m. It was nicknamed the "Land Battleship", and when it was refitted in 1944, it was equipped with a twin turret that removed the medium gun from the triple 28cm main gun turret of the Scharnhorst-class battleships.
- Its armor performance was comparable to that of the Scharnhorst-class battleships, with 180 mm of armor on the turret and top of the hull, and over 350 mm of armor on the sides and front. The Rathe had armor that exceeded that of the Elephant heavy tank destroyer, so it was virtually impossible to neutralize it using conventional attack methods such as direct fire from heavy guns or air attacks.

- There were plans to turn the 80cm railway gun into a self-propelled gun that could move on land rather than on tracks, and the Rate was planned as an extension of this.
- In later years, a super-giant tank weighing 1,500 tons, the Landkreuzer P1500 Monster, was developed, which surpassed this vehicle.
- It was assumed that even a heavy tank weighing around 50 tons would not be able to cross bridges due to its own weight, so it was considered possible to cross rivers by diving using a snorkel, but the same was true for this approximately 1,000-ton vehicle, and it is said that it was possible to cross almost all rivers in Germany by snorkeling.
- This vehicle underwent a major refit from its original specifications in 1944, mainly to replace the secondary turret, and in 1945 again to replace the secondary turret and revert the main turret to a triple gun configuration.
