Product Description

The Kou class was a series of torpedo boats redesigned following the previous Chidori class, learning from the lessons learned from the Tomozuru incident (the capsizing of the Chidori class torpedo boat Tomozuru), and the first boat, the Kou, was completed in October 1936 (Showa 11). With a standard displacement of 840 tons and equipped with three 12cm single guns and one Type 94 triple 53cm torpedo tube as main armament, as well as a depth charge launcher for anti-submarine use, the vessel was different from previous torpedo boats and could be called a small destroyer.
