[Actual vehicle guide]
- The Kiha 47 type 8000 is a vehicle that has been updated with the engine of the Kiha 47 type 0 inherited by JR Kyushu.
- Due to differences in when the renewal work was carried out, there are various differences in appearance, such as the presence or absence of louvers on the side of the car body, the presence or absence of toilet windows, and the presence or absence of water tanks on the roof.
- The Romancing Saga project, a collaboration between Saga Prefecture and Square Enix's RPG series Saga, has been ongoing since 2014.
- From October 2022, all 16 cars at the Karatsu Rolling Stock Center that run on the Karatsu Line and Chikuhi Line in Saga Prefecture, including 7 Kiha 125s and 9 Kiha 47s, will each be wrapped in a different design. It is active as Saga Train].

- In addition to the Romancing Saga wrapping design, which is different for each car, different characteristics are reproduced for each vehicle.
- Set A Kiha 47-8121 and 8134 types and Set B Kiha 47-8132 reproduce the appearance without the louvers on the side of the car body, toilet window, and water tank on the roof.
- Set A's Kiha 47-8157 type and Set B's Kiha 47-8062 type reproduce the rest of the toilet window and roof water tank.
- Set B's Kiha 47-8062 type reproduces the appearance of the louver on the side of the car body, with only the front side remaining.
